Kelownas Wineries

A visit to the West Coast of British Columbia is a tour of some of the best wineries, and it can be a fun and rewarding experience. Western Canada is home to some of the best wine production on the planet, and it is no surprise that there are wineries here in Kelowna.
Visiting wineries can be a wonderful way to see the whole area and spend time in an area where you will not be rushed and your time will be free to do what you enjoy. There are lots of wineries in Kelowna but most of them are fairly small. Some of the larger wineries, though, are quite impressive and they do not all have vineyards here.
For winery tours you should plan ahead and know the region well. The wineries here have been established for many years and so if you plan on visiting an area you will need to make sure you will find the good ones. I have always found that the easier way to get through most of the smaller wineries is to start out with the larger ones, which are the ones with a vineyard.
Visiting the wineries that have vineyards can be fun. Most of the larger ones have that old world look, with well-maintained buildings and the smell of the grapes permeating the air. If you plan to take a tour or just wander around a little, keep in mind that wineries with a vineyard are more easily accessible than smaller ones.
On the vineyard tour you may be able to join a tour that goes out and finds the various vintages. This is a great way to sample different wines and you may be surprised at how similar they are all taste. Also, if you join a local winery tour you will find that they give you tours of the facilities and this can be a very informative tour.
I have often traveled to wineries on my lunch break and enjoyed themselves immensely. Sometimes I went off and had dinner at one of the local restaurants and then had some beers at another one of the wineries. They make the trip worthwhile as there are plenty to do here and the wineries will give you a good story and their history.
The region has its country lifestyle and this is evident with the wineries here. Although most of the wine production takes place off the coast of BC, they still have the house and garden parties. I enjoy going to them, and there is a lot to do and see here. You can spend your day either exploring the vineyards or just sampling some of the wines you find there.
Some of the winery tours will even take you to places where you can taste the wines, like at the sites where the vines are tended to. This gives you the opportunity to taste the fruit from the soil and see the harvesting, which adds a lot to the enjoyment of a tour to a winery. I have been fortunate enough to taste several wines from wineries that do not have a vineyard.
If you want to explore the wild side of the country, some of the wineries offer tours where you can go and fish in the nearby waters. This is part of the charm of the wineries in Kelowna. You can eat or drink and explore the country without leaving the property and getting in trouble.
Wine tasting is also offered at many of the wineries, and there are wines for everyone. If you are not a fan of red wines you can find a selection of white wines here. You will find many reds and many whites at some of the wineries. You can sample a variety and try something new to see if you like it.
There are many wineries in Kelowna. While it maybe easy to take one of the vineyard tours, you may want to do a little more research into the area and see the real estate listings to get a better idea of what it is that you are looking for. One of the things that I found very interesting is that there are wineries that produce both wines and ciders.
Many of these Kelowna wineries are doing it both ways and thus, it is important to decide what you want when you first start out. wine tasting events. at some of the wineries can be unique and fun, so that you may want to return again.
