The Anime Aesthetic

One of the main themes I've been mulling over with regards to anime aesthetics is what is the anime aesthetic and how should an anime artist to accomplish this in her work? How can she use anime symbolism? The answer I came up with is by taking inspiration from an anime aesthetic that is already there and incorporating it into her work. In doing so, I hope to encourage people to see anime for what it is instead of what they wish it to be.
I find that the anime aesthetic that I find most appealing has everything to do with nature and animals. I am drawn to the little details and the symbols that are meant to convey a message. It's a way of expressing emotion in such a direct and unique way that the message can not be lost.
When I think about the anime aesthetic, I don't think about all the bells and whistles or the crazy designs and stuff. Instead, I think about the little things that are important to the characters. I want to express something using those little things, and that is what's interesting to me.
For example, if I were drawing a certain character, I want to know what would make him or her smile. I want to know what would make her smile. What's more, I want to know what would make him or her laugh. From these different things, I can come up with a character that I like and it would then become easier for me to draw them.
Another thing that I like to do when drawing anime is to try and go against the norm. I don't want to follow what's popular because I don't think that's fair to my work and I want to express myself.
One thing that I would like to point out with regards to the anime aesthetic is that it doesn't have to be romantic at all. That's why I was drawn to anime based on nature, animals, and other things that are completely normal. It can also be a symbolical representation of something that is very normal.
I even consider myself to be a bit of a sex symbol, which is fine because cute girls tend to like that sort of thing. However, it's all about what the viewers are really looking for in an anime. They're not looking for something sexualized or that's too provocative or anything like that.
The anime aesthetic is important and it is important to my style. I want to convey the message I want to convey through the character I'm drawing.
